Hiya, This is the story of how i became known as the ‘Wellness Rebel’

I like to shake things up in the wellness world, rip up the rulebook and ditch the sanctimonious fluff that makes so many of us feel “less than.”

This is a space for misfits, seekers, and anyone who’s ever rolled their eyes at the overwhelming (and sometimes judgmental) noise in the wellness industry.

My journey started in the most unassuming of places, a school gym hall at Crofton Park School in South East London, back in 1996. My best mate Alex and I signed up for yoga classes with Karen, an Iyengar-trained powerhouse of a teacher. Let me tell you, we were the furthest thing from serene yogis. Shoulder stands were less about balance and more about laughing at our “airbags” collapsing around our faces. But somewhere in those wobbles and giggles, something stuck.

Since then, yoga has been the one constant in my life. Sure, I’ve fallen off the mat more times than I can count, spectacularly, I might add. But it’s always been the place I come home to. Yoga has seen me through pregnancy, the births of my children, and the devastating loss of my mum. It’s been my anchor, a safe space when the world felt chaotic.

But my passion for wellbeing didn’t stop with yoga. I’ve always been curious about the body’s incredible ability to heal itself, and that curiosity led me to explore alternative medicine, holistic therapies, and the power of food as medicine. At 48, I took the plunge and went back to school, enrolling in a three-year diploma in naturopathic nutrition at CNM College. It was one of the toughest and most transformative things I’ve ever done. Suddenly, everything clicked, the connection between what we eat, how we move, and how we feel.

I learned how nutrition isn’t just about eating “right”—it’s about understanding your unique body and using food as a tool for prevention, not just cure. I discovered how small, intentional choices can have a massive impact on your physical, mental, and emotional health. From boosting your energy to balancing your hormones and even supporting long-term health, nutrition is empowerment. My studies also opened my eyes to how prevention should be at the heart of wellness. Instead of waiting for burnout, illness, or imbalance to strike, we can take charge of our wellbeing now, one step at a time. That’s what alternative medicine taught me—it’s not about quick fixes or rigid rules; it’s about honoring your body’s natural rhythms and supporting its ability to thrive.

And yet, I’ve seen how the wellness industry can feel like a maze, especially for beginners. There’s so much noise, so much judgment, and far too many “shoulds.” That’s why I created Wellness Rebel. This is a space where you can explore, experiment, and empower yourself—without the fear of getting it wrong.

This isn’t about being perfect, ticking boxes, or living up to someone else’s idea of wellness. It’s about real, raw, imperfect health. It’s about learning what works for you and creating a lifestyle that feels good—body, mind, and soul.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking for deeper knowledge, I’m here to guide you with honesty, compassion, and maybe even a little rebel attitude. Together, we’ll rip up the wellness playbook and create something that feels authentic, sustainable, and empowering.

Let’s redefine your wellness together, one step at a time.
